Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS)
TEST FOR ADMISSION INTO CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOLS 2016-2017
Students in the eighth grade during the 2016-2017 school year wishing to apply for fall 2017 admission into Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens are eligible.
Archdiocese of New York: Friday, November 4, 2016, at established test sites in Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester, Orange, Rockland, and Dutchess Counties.
Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens: Saturday, November 5, 2016, at test sites in Brooklyn and Queens.
The test is designed to measure school aptitude and scholastic achievement in Reading, Mathematics, and Language.
Beginning August 22, you may register via the Internet at www.tachsinfo.com or by telephone from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET Monday–Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET Saturday–Sunday at 1-866-61TACHS (1-866-618-2247). You may also obtain a Registration Form and Student Handbook from a Catholic elementary or high school, religious education office or parish. Student Handbooks are also available at www.tachsinfo.com.
An examination fee of $63 will include registration materials, a student handbook, test materials, and the reporting of scores to THREE high schools of your choice. Duplicate registrations will result in a processing fee.
